Springridge Estate
Bridge installation at Springridge Estate, including construction of footings, placement and installation of the steel bridge carcass, and final cladding with decking boards. Delivered as a complete package to provide a durable and functional connection within the estate.
The brief
Springridge Estate needed a pedestrian bridge for Stage 12 of the Wallan development. Morphcon handled the footings and the timber decking, working to the engineer's structural drawings. The bridge carries foot traffic across the estate, so the footings had to sit right and the deck had to run flat and fix down solid over the steel.
How we built it
Every project begins with a solid foundation. We started by setting out the site and completing the footings before installing the structural steel framework. Once the steel was in place, we laid the decking using premium 90 × 35mm F17 structural hardwood, securely fixing each board to the steel frame.
Careful attention was given to board alignment, consistent spacing, and concealed fixings to achieve a clean, professional finish. Every screw was driven below the timber surface for a smooth, safe deck that's built to withstand years of use while maintaining its appearance.
The outcome
Footings in and the deck down, straight boards over the steel with a clean walking surface. A solid pedestrian crossing handed over complete for the estate.
