Alimak Access Ramp/Covered Walkway
Construction of a purpose-built Alimak access ramp, complete with overhead protection and fully enclosed sides, ensuring safe, efficient, and weather-protected access to the Alimak system on site
The brief
Kallibre brought us in to build the access structure for the Alimak hoist on a live Multiplex site in the Melbourne CBD. The hoist pit had to be infilled and decked so crews and materials could get on and off level, with a ramp up to the landing and a covered walkway running the approach in and out. On an active site the structure had to go in without holding up the trade traffic around it.
How we built it
We framed and infilled the hoist pit to create a level working platform, then constructed an access ramp to allow materials to move safely onto the hoist landing. A covered walkway was also built over the approach to provide overhead protection for site crews. The structure was carefully set out around the hoist operation and site traffic, delivering a durable solution built to handle ongoing construction demands.
The outcome
A safe, level access route was delivered to the Alimak hoist, complete with a ramp and covered walkway built to withstand constant site traffic. Construction crews had reliable, protected access throughout the duration of the project.
